Credits System

Everything you need to know about Tintage's credit system for video rendering.

Quick Overview

Tintage uses a dual-credit system designed to give you maximum flexibility and value:

  • Monthly Credits - Included with your subscription, reset every month

  • Purchased Credits - Additional credits you can buy, last 1 full year

How It Works

Two Types of Credits

Monthly Credits (Subscription Credits)

  • Source: Included with your subscription plan

  • Reset: Every billing cycle (monthly/yearly)

  • Rollover: ❌ No rollover - unused credits expire at month end

  • Usage Priority: Used first when consuming credits

  • Expiration: Expire at the end of each billing cycle

Purchased Credits

  • Source: Additional credits you buy anytime

  • Duration: Last exactly 1 year from purchase date

  • Rollover: ✅ Can accumulate and last long-term

  • Usage Priority: Used after monthly credits are exhausted

  • Expiration: Expire exactly 1 year after purchase

Credit Consumption Priority

Credits are consumed in this order to maximize your value:

  1. Monthly Credits First - These expire monthly, so we use them first

  2. Purchased Credits Second - These last longer, so we preserve them

This ensures you get maximum value from your subscription and don't lose monthly credits to expiration.

Troubleshooting

Common Questions

Why don't my monthly credits roll over?

Monthly credits are designed to reset each billing cycle to encourage regular usage and keep the system fair for all users. This ensures consistent value for subscribers and helps manage platform costs.

What happens if I don't use all my monthly credits?

Unused monthly credits expire at the end of your billing cycle. However, any purchased credits you have will continue to be available for up to 1 year from when you bought them.

Can I get a refund for unused purchased credits?

Purchased credits are non-refundable but last for 1 full year, giving you plenty of time to use them. This policy helps keep credit prices affordable for all users.

How do I know when my purchased credits will expire?

Check your credit dashboard at https://tintage.com/usage to see expiration dates for all your purchased credits. The system will also show you which credits are expiring soon.

What if I need more credits than my plan provides?

You can purchase additional credit packs at any time, or consider upgrading your plan for a higher monthly allowance. The dual-credit system gives you flexibility to handle both regular and peak usage.

Why are 4K videos more expensive than 1080p?

4K video rendering requires significantly more processing power and storage than 1080p. The 4-credit cost reflects the additional computational resources needed for ultra-high-definition output.
