Health Exporter

HealthExporter – User Guide

What it does

Export your Apple Health data as easy-to-share files (CSV, JSON, or PDF). Everything is processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it.

Quick start

  1. Open the app and tap “Enable Health Access”.

  2. Pick the date range you want.

  3. Choose the metrics you’d like to include (Steps, Heart Rate, Weight, Sleep Time, etc.).

  4. Select an export format (CSV, JSON, or PDF).

  5. Tap “Export Data” and use the share sheet to save or send the file.

Choosing metrics

  • Use the toggles on the main screen to include/exclude metrics.

  • Sleep Time shows the total minutes asleep per day across sleep stages.

  • Some metrics add up over the day (e.g., Steps, Calories). Others are daily averages (e.g., Heart Rate, BMI).

Changing units

Go to Settings → Unit Preferences to switch:

  • Weight: kg or lbs

  • Distance: km or mi

  • Temperature: °C or °F

  • Energy: kcal or kJ

CSV and PDF will use your chosen units. JSON is more technical and uses HealthKit’s raw units.

Export formats

  • CSV: Great for spreadsheets. Date in the first column, metrics across the top, units in the header.

  • PDF: Clean table that’s easy to share or print. Supports long ranges and many metrics.

  • JSON: Best for developers/advanced users. Metric-by-metric arrays with timestamps.

Privacy

  • Your data stays on your device.

  • The app only reads data you allow and never uploads it.

  • You choose when and where to save or share exports.

If something looks off

  • No values for a day: Health might not have data for that date.

  • A metric is missing: Make sure its toggle is on and Health access is granted for that metric.

  • Sleep is zero: Check that Sleep permission is enabled. Only “asleep” stages are counted.

  • JSON shows 0.97 for oxygen saturation or body fat: That’s 97% in raw form. Use CSV/PDF or multiply by 100.

Frequently asked

  • Can I change units later? Yes. Settings → Unit Preferences.

  • Where’s the app version? Settings → About → App Version.

  • Can I export only a few metrics? Yes—just toggle the ones you want.
